Every day, large grocery stores throw away hundreds of pounds of perfectly edible food, because for one reason or another, it wouldn't be fit for sale. Reston Strong partners with some local stores (like Costco and Harris Teeter) to rescue this food and prevent extraordinary waste. Food that would otherwise be adding to our growing landfills can instead be feeding those who struggle with food insecurity.
